Gift Guide: The Perfect Gift for the Solo Traveler in Your Life
Looking for the perfect gift for the solo traveler, or aspiring solo traveler in your life? Here are some suggestions from a well seasoned solo traveler!
Tis the season for gift giving! I love picking out the perfect gift for all my loved ones and put so much thought into it. I have rounded up a list of gift ideas to help you cross that solo traveler off your list!

I want to note that none of these products I am about to recommend were given to me for promotion by a company. These are all my favorites and ideas straight from Sammie Aloha. Happy shopping!
Luggage: The Away Luggage Set
Sure, it seems like everyone is on the Away bandwagon. But for good reason. Not only is this product well made, it comes with a lifetime warranty. Snap a wheel off? Away will fix it or replace the case altogether. For a consistent traveler like me, this offers such value and peace of mind. Also! They have storefronts in many major cities around the U.S. This was a major perk for me! My second home airport is DFW and Dallas has an Away storefront!
Gift Cards
Easy and totally useful. Airbnb, Uber, Ticketmaster, Lyft, Delta, Southwest, American Airlines, United, Starbucks.. all totally useful to help a traveler out! Perfect stocking stuffers that still scream: I am so excited for you to travel!
Travel Plug Converter
These are not all made equal. I have had several break on me in Europe and it sucked. A quality plug converter will be cherished for many travels to come!
Passport Costs
Maybe the person you are thinking of really wants to travel abroad but the barrier to getting a passport is stopping them. from really gaining any traction to planning a trip. The cost of a passport (in the States) is about $150, and the paperwork can be a pain, Maybe help them with this! I know that I loved getting my siblings their passports early on because 1) I knew how to go about it and 2) it was the gift that kept on giving.
Travel Tote with Trolley Sleeve
This one was a game changer for me. I love putting my travel tote on top of my carry on suitcase and knowing it will not fall off or be a bother. Get a quality one with useful pockets!
Quality Selfie Stick/Tripod
If they are planning or wanting to travel solo, chances are they will be taking their own photos. A quality tripod/selfie stick is crucial! I have had the flimsy kind that fall over in a tiny bit of wind, get stuck, or break easily. Now I have one that has a lil remote with it, a light, is sturdy, and compact!
Travel Cubes
Game. Changer. I will never ever travel again without packing cubes. They really are so useful and make you just sigh a breath of accomplishment when you zip up that suitcase. Easy, affordable, and useful!
Collapsible/foldable duffle bag
I travel with just a carry on to remove the anxiety that my bag will be lost when I am traveling alone. That being said, what about space for all the treasures I find? I bring a collapsible/foldable duffle bag with me so that when I head home, I can put my dirty clothes in the duffle and all my new treasures in my suitcase. I am less worried about my clothes on the way home since the suitcase could be sent to my home if lost, and I will have things I need upon arrival.
Of course other ideas include: neck pillow, raincoat, umbrella, headphones, headphone jack for the plane, cozy socks, gel eye masks, hand masks, and nice pjs.
Good luck and happy shopping!
